How to make Mozzarella sticks (recipe)

Ingredients:
- 1 pound mozzarella cheese, cut into sticks
- 1 cup Italian-seasoned breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Vegetable oil, for frying
- Marinara sauce, for dipping

Instructions:

1. Set up three shallow bowls. In the first bowl, whisk together the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, basil, and salt. In the second bowl, beat the eggs. In the third bowl, place the breadcrumbs.

2. Dip each mozzarella stick into the flour mixture, shaking off any excess. Then dip it into the beaten eggs, and finally coat it in the breadcrumbs, pressing the crumbs onto the cheese. Repeat this process with all the mozzarella sticks.

3. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep saucepan or fryer over medium-high heat until it reaches 375°F. Fry the mozzarella sticks in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes. Use a slotted spoon or tongs to remove the mozzarella sticks and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain.

4. Serve the hot mozzarella sticks with marinara sauce for dipping. Enjoy!
