How to prepare Hummus?

To make hummus, follow these steps:
Ingredients:
- 1 can (15 ounces) of chickpeas (also known as garbanzo beans), drained and rinsed
- 2-3 tablespoons of lemon juice (adjust to taste)
- 2 tablespoons of tahini (sesame paste)
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons of extra-virgin olive oil
- 1\/2 teaspoon of ground cumin
- Salt, to taste
- Water (approximately 1\/4 cup)

Optional toppings:
- Extra olive oil
- Paprika
- Fresh parsley

Instructions:
1. In a food processor or blender, combine the drained and rinsed chickpeas, lemon juice, tahini, minced garlic, olive oil, cumin, and a pinch of salt.

2. Process the ingredients until smooth, scraping down the sides as needed. The texture should be creamy and slightly thick.

3. While the food processor is running, gradually add water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until the hummus reaches your desired consistency. The water helps make the hummus smooth and creamy.

4. Taste the hummus and adjust the seasoning, adding more salt or lemon juice if desired.

5. Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl.

6. To serve, drizzle some extra virgin olive oil on top of the hummus and garnish with a sprinkle of paprika and fresh parsley.

7. You can serve hummus with pita bread, pita chips, raw vegetables, or use it as a spread in sandwiches or wraps.

8. Leftover hummus can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.

Enjoy your homemade hummus!
