How to prepare Garlic naan?
To make garlic naan, follow these steps:
Ingredients:-
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons plain yogurt
- 2 tablespoons melted ghee or butter
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- Chopped fresh coriander (optional)
- Butter for brushing
Instructions-:
1. In a small bowl, dissolve the sugar in warm water and sprinkle the yeast over it. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the activated yeast mixture, yogurt, melted ghee or butter, minced garlic, and chopped coriander (if using).
3. Mix everything together until a dough forms. If the dough is too sticky, you can add a little more flour. Knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours or until doubled in size.
5. Preheat a skillet or tawa over medium heat.
6. Divide the dough into equal-sized portions and roll each portion into a round or oval shape. The thickness can be adjusted based on your preference.
7. Place the rolled naan onto the preheated skillet and cook for about 1-2 minutes until bubbles start to form on the surface.
8. Flip the naan and cook the other side for another 1-2 minutes until it puffs up and gets brown spots.
9. Once cooked, remove the naan from the skillet and brush it with melted butter.
10. Repeat the process with the remaining dough portions.
11. Serve the garlic naan warm and enjoy with your favorite curry or dip.
Enjoy your homemade garlic naan!
